SFIA’s annual meeting and general session will start at noon on Tuesday, April 1, in room E221A at the Charlotte Convention Center.  These meetings will be in conjunction with Build25: AWCI’s annual convention and trade show.

The annual meeting, from noon to 12:30 p.m., will showcase recent SFIA design award winners and include the annual elections of SFIA officers and Board of Directors.  Don Allen, SFIA’s new executive director, will give a brief state of the association presentation, and discuss accomplishments from the previous year, plans for the upcoming year, and challenges and opportunities for the future of steel framing.  The annual meeting is open to SFIA members only, and one individual from each company represented will be designated as a voting member for officer and board elections.

At 12:30 p.m., immediately following the annual meeting, the one-hour SFIA general session will begin: featuring author and association advocate Dan Varroney, who is spearheading SFIA’s 2025-2028 planning.  Dan will discuss some of his findings thus far in his conversations with the SFIA leadership and ask for audience input on the challenges and future of the association. The general session will be open to the public: so anyone interested in the steel framing industry is welcome, space permitting. The general session will also be in room E221A at the Charlotte Convention Center, near the southwest corner of the meeting room (top) level.

SFIA will be exhibiting at Build25 in booth 1028. The show floor will be open 12:30 – 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, and from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 3. SFIA members are entitled to a free VIP pass using registration code VIP25. Several SFIA members will be exhibiting, as well as many other manufacturers and vendors affiliated with the steel framing industry.  We encourage members to attend and engage with both SFIA and our friends at AWCI. If you cannot attend, but are interested in volunteer opportunities within SFIA, please email [email protected], or contact Meredith Perez or Holly Mellinger.
