Terms and Conditions – Membership
There are 12 classes of SFIA membership, each with specific requirements that must be met. Article IV.1 of the SFIA Bylaws contains the following requirements for eligibility.
Any individual, partnership, firm, corporation, or entity engaged in supplying steel framing materials or equipment, the design and/or specification of cold-formed steel framing systems, manufacturing steel framing studs, tracks, panels, trusses, or connectors, and/or contractor for installing steel framing systems located on the North American continent is eligible to become an SFIA member.
Membership Categories
Click here to join as a Connector & Accessory Manufacturer A company regularly engaged in the manufacture of cold-formed steel framing connectors or accessories including fastener. Enrollment in the Connector Certification Program is required, if the company is not enrolled in the Stud Code Compliance Certification Program.
Click here to join as a Coil Coater or Zinc Producer Member A company regularly engaged in coating or providing coating materials for cold-formed steel framing members, connectors or accessories.
Click here to join as a Steel Coil Supplier/Processor Member A company regularly engaged in supplying steel materials for cold-formed steel framing members, connectors or accessories.
Click here to join as a Panel and Truss Fabricating Members A company regularly engaged in fabricating panels and/or trusses utilizing cold-formed steel framing members. Enrollment in the Truss Fabricator Certification Program is not required.
Click here to join as a Equipment and Tool Manufacturer Members A company regularly engaged in manufacturing equipment and/or tools for use by the cold-formed steel framing industry.
Click here to join as a Contractor Members A company employing labor as a contractor engaged in the installation of cold-formed steel industry products. A Contractor Member must be a member of the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry. Enrollment in the Contractor Certification Program is not required.
Click here to join as a Design Professional Individual or Corporate Member An individual or company engaged in the design and or specification of cold-formed steel framing systems.
Click here to join as a General Member Any individual, partnership, firm, corporation or entity in business involved in the cold-formed steel systems is eligible to become a General Member of SFIA, only if it does not meet the terms and conditions of the other membership classes.
Click here to join as a Manufacturer Member A company regularly engaged in the manufacture of cold-formed steel framing members. Must be majority owned, a subsidiary or affiliated entity of a company that has been actively manufacturing cold-formed steel framing members for at least one year, or acquired a company with managers who have at least one year of experience in manufacturing cold-formed steel framing. Enrollment in the Stud Code Compliance Program is required.
Click here to join as a Contractor / Manufacturer Member A contractor engaged in the installation of cold-formed steel industry products and also is engaged in the manufacture of cold-formed steel products for use in panels and assemblies that the company primarily installs. Enrollment in the Stud Code Compliance Program is required.
