There are 12 classes of SFIA membership, each with specific requirements that must be met. Article IV.1 of the SFIA Bylaws contains the requirements for eligibility. Coating Producer Member. Any individual, partnership, firm, corporation, or entity regularly engaged in coating or providing coating materials on the North American continent for cold-formed steel framing members, connectors or accessories is eligible to become a Coating Producer Member of SFIA only if it meets the following terms and conditions: (1) Must be engaged in processing steel or producing coating materials. (2) Must comply with the International Code Council’s International Building Code and the International Residential Code. (3) Must have been processing steel or producing coating materials in the cold-formed steel framing industry for a minimum of one year. (4) Must submit a current copy of product literature. (5) Must abide by the Code of Ethics as approved by the Board of Directors.

Don Allen Ready to Lead
SFIA's new ED begins Aug. 1
Don Allen, P.E., S.E., LEED AP, is the Steel Framing Industry Association’s (SFIA) new executive director on August 1. Allen succeeds Larry Williams, who is retiring. Allen says he is "excited to work and partner with the SFIA staff and leadership team" to grow the steel framing market.
